Recording Services

All performers and composers require excellent recordings of their work to advance their careers. Peabody's Recording Arts program offers complete audio and video-recording services to students, and for competitive rates.

Students can also make their own recordings free of charge in Peabody's Multimedia Studio, located in Leakin Hall, Room 205. The studio opened in September 2013 and contains a 7-foot Steinway piano. Follow the link for more information and to access the reservation form. To be eligible to reserve the studio, students must complete a free 2-hour certification workshop.

If students enlist the services of the Recording Arts Department, they can arrange to record in the on-campus Recording Arts studios, one of which houses a 9-foot grand piano, and can schedule recordings in Peabody's concert halls. Editing and mastering services are also provided.

For costs and other information, visit the Recording Arts Department rates and policies page.

To help cover the costs of recording, students can apply for career development grants; composers may also seek funding from New Music USA and other external grantors.
