Career and Creativity Seminars
During the spring 2013 semester, the Music Entrepreneurship & Career Center will present Career and Creativity Seminars on selected Tuesdays from 12:00-12:50 in room 206C. Here's a snapshot of upcoming events. Details about additional events will be posted as they become available. Admission is free and open to the Peabody community.

Feb. 5: Canceled. Music and the Media: Getting Press Coverage for Musical Events
Public Relations expert Dr. Lara Pellegrinelli discusses the inner workings of contemporary media and shows how musicians can craft compelling stories that attract media attention.
Feb. 12: Community Engagement and Social Action through Music
- OrchKids Director Dan Trahey presents examples of musicians who are involving diverse people in creating and appreciating music. He will then map out ways in which rising musicians can get involved in this growing segment of the music industry.
Mar. 5: Applying for Fulbright and other Fellowships
- Dr. Kelly Barry, Director of Fellowships and Scholarships for Peabody and JHU students will introduce a range of external awards that are available to Peabody students, summarizing their requirements and describing strategies for crafting winning proposals. See: http://web.jhu.edu/scholarships/
Mar. 12: The Future of Classical Music
- Composer, author, critic and blogger Greg Sandow will show why orchestras and other classical music businesses are on the decline and then illustrate ways in which rising musicians can build burgeoning careers in today's music landscape. See: http://www.artsjournal.com/sandow/
