Book Store
Centre Street Complex
The Peabody Music and Book Store is located at 5 East Centre Street, just across the street from the residence halls, and is operated by Barnes & Noble, Inc. as a branch of The Johns Hopkins University Book Center. The Book Store carries a large selection of musical scores and materials, along with required textbooks. In addition, books and scores not in stock can be special-ordered at no additional charge. Gift certificates are available. Please send any requests or complaints to sm183@bncollege.com.

Computer Resource Rooms
The Leakin Hall Student Lab in Room 205 is equipped with computers connected to the campus Ethernet network. The computers include Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Front Page, Internet Explorer, Mozilla, secure FTP, and SSH clients, as well as a host of other applications and utilities. The lab is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week to Conservatory students and faculty only. Those interested in using these resources may access the lab using their Peabody ID cards.
The Computing Center in Unger Lounge supports the academic research, instructional, and administrative objectives of the Peabody Institute. These resources are intended for the sole use of Peabody Conservatory faculty, staff, students, and other authorized users to accomplish tasks related to the user's status at Peabody and consistent with Peabody's mission.
The Computing Center is equipped with PCs, Power Macs, a laser printer, scanner, MIDI keyboards, video-editing equipment, CD-RW drives, and DVD-RW drives. It functions as both a language learning laboratory and an academic multi-media facility.

Printer cards are required for use of the Computing Center laser printer. Each year students may request a printer card with 50 free copies from the Arthur Friedheim Library AV desk. Additional copies may be purchased at 10 cents per copy. Students must pick up an invoice from the Computing Center Office and take it to the Business Office to make payment. The Business Office will supply a receipt which must be taken to the Computing Center Office in order to obtain the printer card. Color inkjet printouts cost 50 cents each and 11" x 17" laser printouts cost 20 cents each. These prices are subject to change. In the Computing Center, students will need to use a printer card even if they provide their own paper.
Copy Machines
There are two copy machines on campus for student use, one in Unger Lounge and one in the Friedheim Library. Both machines charge 10 cents per copy. The copier in Friedheim Library can reproduce 8 ½” x 11”, 8 ½” x 14” and 11” x 17” copies, while the machine in the Unger Lounge copies 8 ½” x 11”.
Fitness Room
Leakin Hall, Plaza Level
Leakin Hall houses a fitness room across from the lower entrance to Goodwin Hall. Funded by generous gifts from the Peabody Alumni Association and the Johns Hopkins Alumni Associations, the fitness room features a universal weight set, four exercise bikes, two stair climbers, two treadmills, and an elliptical machine. Available 24 hours a day, students may seek access through the Campus Security Office when the room is locked (12:00 am-6:00 am). Regulations governing the use of the fitness room are posted in the room.
Unger Lounge
East Residence Hall Tower, Plaza Level
Unger Lounge is the gathering spot for the entire Peabody community. The lounge houses pool, ping-pong, and foosball tables; vending machines; student mailboxes; and a television.
Maestro's Cafe
5 East Centre Street
Maestro’s Café is a place to relax or to take a quick study break.
