Roommate Locating Assistance
In an effort to improve the roommate locating assistance program, effective June 24, 2009 we are discontinuing our static form to mass-email communication and transitioning to a much more flexible and comprehensive social networking platform.
We have established a new social network at Peabodystudent.groupsite.com . The site provides current Peabody Conservatory students with a shared calendar, discussion forums, member profiles, photo gallery, RSS feeds and more. It functions in a way quite similar to Facebook. To learn more about the site, please click on the Peabody Social Network tab from the menu on the left.
Go ahead and join the network. Once your profile has been created and approved, you will have access to all available features.
After being approved as a member of the groupsite, you can navigate to the Off-Campus Roommate Assistance subgroup, found in the Subgroups Directory tab from the Subgroups menu. You can think of Subgroups as focused groups formed around a particular objective. You are welcome to use any of the tools (discussions, postings, photo gallery, personal profile, e-mail) that you think might help you in your search for a roommate/housing in Baltimore. Most of the features have been explained in short initial posts.
Please note: Peabody Student Affairs, the office which manages this service, does not perform any matching of individuals. All information that you are willing to provide is accessible to ALL participants in a non-discriminative manner. We do not oversee the use of this information by the participants. Please make sure that you do not provide any information that you would not normally provide in a paper ad. Again, participants are limited to current and incoming Peabody students.
All information provided through this platform is maintained by Peabody Conservatory Student Affairs office and Groupsite.com. We will never use this service to request sensitive information from you (such as your SS#, JHED ID, ISIS ID etc.) Please keep in mind that this is a university monitored resource and complies with all of Johns Hopkins University Policies.
If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact our office at studentaffairs@peabody.jhu.edu
