Peabody Social Network Site

We have established a new social network at Peabodystudent.groupsite.com .  The site provides current Peabody Conservatory students with a shared calendar, discussion forums, member profiles, photo gallery, RSS feeds and more. It functions in a way quite similar to Facebook. This new platform will enable us to share resources and coordinate our efforts much more efficiently. It also provides a wonderful opportunity to develop a vibrant net community of Peabody students, while at the same time ensures security and privacy for all members.

The MAIN Groupsite encompasses all events, questions and concerns related to student life at Peabody. It provides a quick and efficient way to address questions, while at the same time allowing others to benefit from the information provided. If you are wondering about health services, parking, transportation, security, what is “concert attire”, etc? –post your questions on the main discussion board.

The Groupsite also includes SUBGROUPS. You can think of SUBGROUPS as focused groups formed around a particular goal. You are welcome to use any of the tools (discussions, postings, photo gallery, personal profile, e-mail) that you think might help you objective. Most of the features have been explained in short initial posts.  As we expand the network, more subgroups will appear. You can browse the subgroups by clicking on the Subgroups Directory tab.

You are welcome to invite your friends to join, provided that they are current Peabody students (we track and verify all members). Unless invited by administrator, everyone is required to use their JHU e-mail address for sign-up.

All information provided through this platform is maintained by Peabody Conservatory Office of Student Affairs and Groupsite.com. We will never use this service to request sensitive information from you (such as your SS#, JHED ID, ISIS ID etc.). Please keep in mind that this is a university monitored resource and complies with all of Johns Hopkins University Policies (http://www.jhu.edu/news_info/policy).

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact our office at studentaffairs@peabody.jhu.edu.
