Services Provided

The Office of International Student Affairs at Peabody assists international students in several capacities:

Immigration Advisor

The International Student Advisor provides advising services to international students which relate to their particular student visa status within the United States. In accordance with U.S. Immigration law and various rules and regulations contained therein, the advisor assists non-immigrant students with the following:

  • Initial entry into the United States
  • Extensions of stay
  • Work authorization
  • Changes of visa status
  • Reinstatement to legal status
  • Travel authorization/re-entry to the U.S. Transfers to/from Peabody Conservatory

This list is by no means exhaustive. In addition to these advisory functions, the international student advisor advises and assists international students with many specialized and individualized issues relating to their particular non-immigrant visa status.

Advocate/Liaison

All staff members of the Office of International Student Affairs at Peabody are routinely called upon to act as liaisons for the international students. Staff members work with government agencies, conservatory departments, and a variety of other entities to seek solutions to problems faced by foreign nationals, to voice specific concerns on their behalf, and to request appropriate assistance when needed.
