Transfer Out of Peabody

F-1 students are only authorized to attend the school that issued their I-20. If you wish to attend another university, you will have to request a transfer from Peabody to that school. While you may apply to several schools, you must select the school you will attend before requesting a transfer. Once your SEVIS record is released, we will no longer have access to make any changes to your SEVIS record.

For students still enrolled at the conservatory, the release date for your SEVIS record will be the last day of final exams for your last semester at Peabody. For those students on post-completion OPT, please select a release date for your SEVIS record.

Timing Issues

  • Your SEVIS record must be released within the 60 days following your graduation date, or the expiration of OPT;
  • Students granted an authorized withdrawal from Peabody must have their SEVIS record released within 15 days of the withdrawal date;
  • After release of your SEVIS record, ISA will no longer have access to make any changes;
  • Your new school will be able to issue you an I-20 after your SEVIS record has been released;
  • Any employment that was authorized on your Peabody I-20 (on-campus employment, CPT, OPT, etc.) is no longer valid after the release date.

Transfer procedures

  • Submit a Transfer Out Form to ISA
  • Submit a copy of your letter of admission to the new university you wish to be transferred to the ISA office advisor.
  • If your new institution wishes us to complete a transfer in form, please submit that as well.
  • For students on post-completion OPT, please indicate the date you want your SEVIS record released to the new institution.
