Director Jeffrey Sharkey oversees all aspects of the administrative and
academic activities of both divisions of the Peabody Institute—the
Conservatory and the Preparatory. In addition, the director represents the
Institute to the public and, as dean of a division of the University, reports
to the provost and president of The Johns Hopkins University. Career
development grants are administered and awarded in this office.

Dean and Deputy Director Mellasenah Morris acts as the chief academic
officer of the Conservatory and is responsible for all operational aspects
of the educational program and student life, including all matters of
professional and educational concern to the faculty and students. The
dean oversees the organization and operating functions of the offices of
Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, the Registrar, Financial Aid, Admissions,
Concert Office, Ensemble Office, and the Friedheim Library. The dean/
deputy director also represents the director of the Peabody Institute
when appropriate.

The associate dean for academic affairs directs the office and serves
as a liaison between the students and faculty, and between the
Conservatory and the University, on the details of learning and assessment.
The associate dean is also the coordinator for double degree programs
with any of the other schools of The Johns Hopkins University.
