Campus Access
When an entrance to the campus is opened for any length of time, Campus Security personnel will be stationed at the door to monitor people entering campus and to check IDs. At all other times, the doors are kept locked to prevent unwanted stranger traffic. Each outside entrance point has an intercom box located next to the card reader and is monitored by camera. The intercom may be used to contact the Campus Security desk officer, if you are having trouble. To operate the intercom, just push the call button on the box. There is no need to hold the button in for any length of time.
Only persons possessing an active Peabody ID card will be able to enter the campus by using the card-key access system. All others must use the main entrance located at 17 East Mount Vernon Place. All student ID cards are de-activated the day after commencement in May. Students may have their ID cards re-activated for the summer at the Campus Security Office, provided they have pre-registered for the following semester.
All outside entrances to the campus are operable through the use of an active ID/ card-key unless otherwise noted.
