Computer Resource Rooms

The Leakin Hall Student Lab in Room 205 is equipped with computers connected to the campus Ethernet network. The computers include Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Front Page, Internet Explorer, Mozilla, secure FTP, and SSH clients, as well as a host of other applications and utilities. The lab is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week to Conservatory students and faculty only. Those interested in using these resources may access the lab using their Peabody ID cards.

The Computing Center in Unger Lounge supports the academic research, instructional, and administrative objectives of the Peabody Institute. These resources are intended for the sole use of Peabody Conservatory faculty, staff, students, and other authorized users to accomplish tasks related to the user’s status at Peabody and consistent with Peabody’s mission.

The Computing Center is equipped with PCs, Power Macs, a laser printer, scanner, MIDI keyboards, video-editing equipment, CD-RW drives, and DVD-RW drives. It functions as both a language learning laboratory and an academic multi-media facility.

Students must pick up an invoice from the Computing Center Office and take it to the Business Office to make payment. The Business Office will supply a receipt which must be taken to the Computing Center Office in order to obtain the printer card. Color inkjet printouts cost 50 cents each and 11” x 17” laser printouts cost 20 cents each. These prices are subject to change. In the Computing Center, students will need to use a printer card even if they provide their own paper.
