Jurisdiction
The Academic Code of Conduct and the Student Conduct Code apply to students of the Peabody Conservatory of The Johns Hopkins University. The primary purpose of the Conservatory’s regulation of student conduct is to promote the highest levels of academic integrity and to protect the health, safety, welfare, property, and rights of all members of the campus community. These codes are designed to benefit the Peabody Conservatory and to assist in the forming of the highest standards of ethics and morals among its members. Acceptance of membership in the Peabody Conservatory carries with it an obligation on the part of each individual to respect the rights of others, to protect the University as a forum for the free expression of ideas, and to obey the law in keeping with the educational mission of the Conservatory, acts of misconduct are viewed first as an opportunity to teach students the impact of their behavior on others and to understand the consequences of their actions.
No refund of tuition or fees will be granted to students suspended or dismissed for disciplinary reasons as a result of the Academic Code of Conduct and the Student Conduct Code. Peabody reserves the right to revoke scholarship and/or dismiss a student whose academic standing or general conduct is considered unsatisfactory. Federal aid will be adjusted according to the Return of Title IV Funds refund policy, and may create a balance for which the student is responsible.
