Junior Bach
Junior Bach is an outreach program sponsored by the composition department at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University. Each semester, Peabody composition majors give weekly, one-on-one lessons to students from the St. Ignatius Loyola Academy, culminating in a concert of their original music. Founded in 2006 by then-undergraduate composer Kevin Clark on a volunteer basis, Junior Bach has been offered for academic credit since 2007, providing invaluable teaching experience for composers at Peabody and a unique creative opportunity for students at St. Ignatius.
The Junior Bach Program
 Christopher Noakes is in the seventh grade at St. Ignatius Loyola Academy. Chris has written two pieces as part of the Junior Bach Program. His piece Dream Variations for Violin and Marimba is featured several times during the video. |
 Michael Rickelton is a DMA student at Peabody Conservatory studying with Michael Hersch. He mentored Christopher Noakes as Chris wrote Dream Variations. |
