Baltimore Scholars
Rachel Winder is a native of Baltimore, attended Baltimore School for the Arts and has just finished her second year studying both classical and jazz saxophone at the Peabody Conservatory. As part of the Johns Hopkins Baltimore Scholars Program, Rachel receives a full tuition scholarship to pursue her Bachelor of Music degree. She currently performs in numerous ensembles including the Peabody Wind Ensemble, Peabody Jazz Orchestra, Whit Williams Big Band, and her own jazz group.
The Johns Hopkins Baltimore Scholars Program offers full-tuition scholarships for graduates of Baltimore City public schools accepted into the university's undergraduate programs. The program is not yet endowed, so the funds are provided by currently endowed scholarships and the general unrestricted scholarship fund.
