Online Exhibits
The Peabody Archives maintain two online exhibits on our website.
- Sounds and Stories is an oral history project that documents Baltimore's African-American musical history through interviews. Transcripts and audio recording of these interviews, as well as samples of each artist's work are available as a part of the exhibit.
-
The Storm is Passing Over is a traveling and online
exhibition that uses photographs, manuscripts and memorabilia to document
the lives of Maryland's African-American musicians. It tells the
stories of their struggles and achievements during the long years of
segregation, from Reconstruction to the passage of the first Civil
Rights Act in 1964.
