The Peabody Children’s Chorus, founded in 1990, has performed with the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra, the Baltimore Choral Arts Society, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Concert Artists of Baltimore, Lyric Opera Baltimore, the Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra, the Peabody Opera Theater, and the Peabody Symphony Orchestra. The Chorus has toured in England, Scotland, France, Italy, Austria and Germany, performing in places such as St. Paul’s Cathedral, London; Wells Cathedral, Wells; Canterbury Cathedral, Canterbury; St. Peter’s Basilica, Rome; St. Mark’s Cathedral, Venice; the American Cemetery, Normandy; Notre Dame Cathedral and La Madeleine, Paris; St. Stephen’s Cathedral, Vienna. The Chorus has joined the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Maestra Marin Alsop, for performances of Bernstein’s Mass, Honegger’s Jeanne d’Arc au bûcher, Britten’s War Requiem, Orff’s Carmina Burana, and Adams’ On The Transmigration of Souls, at venues such as the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, Baltimore; The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Washington, D.C.; and Carnegie Hall, New York City. The Grammy-nominated Naxos American Classics recording of Bernstein’s Mass was released in 2009.
