Collaborating Artists

Pat Alexander

Since 1988, Pat Alexander has used artist-cast paper for sculptural installations and as a ground for paintings that have been exhibited in the United States and Japan. Her projects include "Geometro" commissioned by the Maryland Department of Transportation for the Lexington Market subway station and. Scaling the Walls, a multi-media collaboration at the Schwartz Center for the Performing Arts, Cornell University. She has received numerous national and international awards and grants.

Michelle La Perriere

Michelle La Perriere was born and grew up in Denver, Colorado. She has received Individual Artist Awards from the Maryland State Arts Council, the Mayor's Advisory Council on Art and Culture, and numerous faculty development grants from MICA. Selected residencies include the Jentel Artist Residency Program, Banner, Wyoming, the Hambidge Center for the Arts and Sciences, Rabun Gap, Georgia and the Millay Colony for the Arts, Austerlitz, New York.

Michelle La Perriere teaches at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), where she is Co-Chair of the Foundation Department. She received her MFA from the Hoffberger School of Painting, MICA, her BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and studied at Parsons School of Design in New York and the University of Colorado. Selected collections include Syracuse University, the Borg-Warner Corporation, AIDS Interfaith Residential Services and private collections in the U.S. and France. Her work has been widely exhibited and reviewed.
