Individual instruction is available to children and adults of all experience levels—from beginners through the most advanced levels of study. Lessons are scheduled on an individual basis and are contingent upon teacher availability.
Students enrolled in individual instruction are required to have a practice instrument available.
Students will also have opportunities to participate in recitals, repertoire and master classes, and either of our music certificate programs. In addition, all Preparatory students receive one free admission (and a discount on one additional ticket) to most Peabody Institute concerts.
Tuition is based on a 16-week semester and must be paid in both fall and spring for each semester. We do not prorate tuition for late registration.

Flute Choir (Ages 6 to adult)
![]()
This ensemble class is open to all flute students designed to provide instruction in a group setting. Classes will focus on musicianship, flute technique and sight reading skills, while experiencing the fun of performing with other flutists. The ensemble will rehearse music written and arranged for flute choir. Seating placement is determined by instructor each semester and will rotate often. Rotation of parts offers each participant an opportunity to gain a broader awareness of playing melody and harmony, as well as accompaniment. Flute students are encouraged to enroll regardless of whether the student receives individual instruction at the Preparatory. For Preparatory students, it is a supplement (not a replacement) to the student's individual instruction, group or ensemble classes. Participation is by semester and can be taken repeatedly. Regular attendance is required. The class meets weekly for 60 minutes. Audition is not required, but students interested in participating in this class must receive approval from Delandria Mills prior to registering at dmills@ delandriamills.com. Minimum of four students.
