Young Artists Orchestra
Daniel Levitov, Conductor
Open to intermediate and advanced strings musicians in middle through high school, the Preparatory Young Artists Orchestra will explore the major concert repertoire for string orchestra in a setting that stresses developing technical precision, leadership, and musical artistry. The Orchestra will present two to three performances and regularly collaborate with outstanding student soloists and guest artists. Woodwind and brass players are invited to audition, and will be admitted on repertoire needs.
New and continuing students must audition for acceptance and placement in the orchestra. Auditions are open to all interested students but priority will be given to those in individual instruction at the Preparatory. Only students in individual instruction at the Preparatory are eligible to participate in Preparatory recitals or competitions, including the Junior Concerto Competition.
