Ruben Capriles

Orchestra Assistant

Ruben Capriles BM and MM Conducting Simón Bolívar University; DMA (in progress) Peabody Conservatory. Capriles began conducting professionally as music director of the Zulia Boys Singer Orchestra and later as music director of the Caracas Youth Symphony Orchestra. He has been guest conductor of major national and regional orchestras in Venezuela. In 2005, Capriles was appointed music director of the Ciudad Guayana Symphony Orchestra. Since 2006, he has been studying conducting with Gustav Meier, Markand Thakar, and Marin Alsop. Capriles is the director of orchestras at The Baltimore School of the Arts.
