Laura Dolid
Ballet
Graduate of the School of American Ballet. Dolid trained for six years there with Alexandria Danilova, Diana Adams, Felia Doubrovska, Muriel Stuart, Stanley Williams, Helene Dudin, and Antonia Tumkovsky. Upon graduation, she joined the Pennsylvania Ballet. Following, Ms. Dolid became a member of Les Grands Ballets Canadiens and then a soloist with the Israel Ballet. Her teaching career began in Israel and upon returning to the United States she joined the faculty of the Poughkeepsie Ballet Theatre in upstate NY and taught at the Harkness Ballet in NYC. Currently, in addition to being on the faculty of the Peabody Preparatory, Ms. Dolid is the artistic director of the Sudbrook Arts Centre, where she established Summer Dance and expanded the dance program as co-founder of the Baltimore County Youth Ballet. She has been on the Goucher College dance faculty since 1981.
