A coloratura soprano who sang leading roles (Zerbinetta in Ariadne auf Naxos, Adele in Die Fledermaus, Oscar in Un Ballo in Maschera, Gilda in Rigoletto, Anna in Die Lustigen Weiber von Windsor, Miss Wordsworth in Albert Herring, Papagena in The Magic Flute, and more) with Zurich Opera, Staatsoper Prague, Vienna Kammeroper, Koblenz Opera, L'Opera Francais, Mannes Camerata; solo appearances with the Sudwestdeutsche Symphonie, Neue Musik Orchester Basel, Rheinische Philharmonie, Pittsburgh Concert Society, Baltimore Composers Forum; 2006 and 2002 Winner, Individual Artist Award for Solo Voice from the Maryland State Arts Council; winner Friday Music Club Young Artists Competition, Pittsburgh Concert Society Auditions; finalist in numerous international competitions including the Belvedere, Jenny Lind, Palm Beach Opera, etc.; worked with Nello Santi, Ralf Weikert, Dietfried Bernet, Judith Blegen, Hakan Hagegard.
Her students have been accepted to the top Conservatories including Juilliard, Manhattan School of Music with scholarship, Peabody with scholarship, New England Conservatory, Oberlin, Mannes, USC Thornton School of Music, NYU, Temple University, and more; they have also won numerous voice competitions including 1st place at both the State and Regional NATS Auditions.
Ms. Muscat gave a Master Class at the Washington National Opera Summer Institute, and has judged many competitions including State and Regional Student NATS auditions, NATS Artist Awards (NATSAA), the Baltimore County Solo and Ensemble Festival, NOVA Idol, and a Towson University Music Competition. She has been interviewed on WJZ-TV CBS Baltimore, WMAR (ABC), CNN Headline News Comcast Local Edition, and Comcast Newsmakers. She also co-founded Baltimore Ballet in June of 2000, where she has been the Managing Director of Baltimore Ballet School and Executive Director of Baltimore Ballet Company for the past 12 years.
