Anastasia PikeAnastasia Pike is principal harpist of the Washington, DC-based Capital City Symphony, and opened the 2009-2010 season with a sold-out concert as concerto soloist. She has performed on national and international television, and in venues including New York's Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall, Boston's Jordan Hall, and Baltimore's Lyric Opera House. Pike has also collaborated with members of the Academy of St. Martin-in-the-Fields, the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, the City of London Sinfonia, the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, the English Philharmonic, Europa Galante, the London Mozart Players, L'Orchestre des Champs Elysees, and the Metropolitan Opera. As one half of the Sprezzatura Duo, she performs audience-friendly concerts featuring music from around the world.

In addition to her career as a concert harpist, Pike is an award-winning pianist, and maintains a private studio of both piano and harp students. She has also been featured on over 10 different CDs as both harpist and pianist. As a musicologist, Pike has conducted research nationally and internationally, worked with artists including Pierre Boulez, Alice Chalifoux, Evgeny Kissin, and Leonard Slatkin, and written for the American Harp Journal, as well as for various encyclopedic volumes by Salem Press.

Pike has degrees from the University of Maryland, Pensacola Theological Seminary, the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University, and Columbia University. She received additional training at the Juilliard School, the MasterWorks Festival - London, and upon personal invitation to the Salzedo School. Pike’s primary instructors were the late Cleveland Orchestra principal harpist Alice Chalifoux and former Peabody Conservatory professor Jeanne Chalifoux. She is on the harp faculties of the Peabody Preparatory and Columbia University.
