Alexis Zhu

BM The University of Michigan-Ann Arbor; MM Peabody Conservatory; DMA (in progress) The Manhattan School of Music. Zhu currently holds teaching appointments both at the Manhattan School of Music and the Peabody Preparatory. She lectured at the 2008 World Piano Pedagogy Conference. She was Zalina Gurevich's assistant for four years. She has made recital appearances in Carnegie's Weill Recital Hall, and performed as a Cliburn Young Artist, at the Bowdoin International Music Festival, at Pianofest in the Hamptons, at the Mannes International Keyboard Institute and Festival, and at the Las Vegas International Music Festival. In addition to studying with Yong Hi Moon, Phillip Kawin, Arthur Greene, and Oleg Barsov, she studied pedagogy under Carol Prochazka at Peabody.
