Partnership Agreement with the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory
In 2001, the Peabody Institute and the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory entered into a partnership to aid the growth of the then brand new conservatory in Singapore. The partnership flourished and in 2007, the agreement was renewed and included a mandate for student exchange between the two conservatories. Up to four students from Yong Siew Toh may attend Peabody and four Peabody students have the opportunity to study in Singapore each semester.
Now, gifted YST students can study on scholarship at Peabody for the complete two-year program to earn their master's degrees. Peabody accepts four new students per year and is also home to former YST students earning graduate level degrees with scholarships from Peabody. Currently, twelve graduate students who originally hale from YST are earning their advanced degrees at Peabody.
Peabody and Yong Siew Toh celebrated their 10th anniversary of the agreement in 2011 with a concert at Carnegie Hall in New York City, among other activities. Please visit the events page to find out more!
