Peabody H1N1 Updates

December 8th, 2009

H1N1 Vaccine Available to All Students

Dear Peabody Students,

Good news: Vaccine against H1N1 influenza is now available for ALL Peabody campus undergraduates and graduate students.

Specifically, you are now eligible to receive the H1N1 vaccine at the Johns Hopkins Community Physicians (JHCP) at Wyman Park.

Call JHCP at 410-338-3052, identify yourself as a Peabody Student, and make an appointment to be vaccinated. H1N1 vaccine is free.

I urge all students to get your vaccinations as soon as possible. So far this semester, nearly 40 of your fellow students at Peabody have been diagnosed as having H1N1. Having recently recovered from the H1N1 flu myself, it's not a fun disease. GET THE VACCINE!!!!

As is true with other vaccine-preventable diseases (such as measles, mumps and whooping cough), high rates of H1N1 immunization will dramatically curtail infection in our community. Getting many of you vaccinated now will minimize the impact of H1N1 flu at Peabody during the spring semester.

Let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Stay healthy and well,

Dean Kurita
