Alumna chosen as La Gesse Artist

Shu-Ting Yao (MM ’06, Violin) has been chosen as a La Gesse Foundation Artist for 2011. Yao will present multiple solo and chamber recitals in Europe, as well as in the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall on Nov. 1.

Igor Yuzefovich (BM '02, GPD '04)

Alumus Igor Yuzefovich (BM ’02, GPD ’04, Violin) has been appointed concertmaster of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. He will take up the position in January 2012.

Malori D. Fuchs (BM '09)

Malori D. Fuchs (BM ’09, Violin) is the youth programs coordinator in the Education Department of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. She also teaches private violin lessons to middle and high school students in her hometown of Frisco, Tx.

Tseng performs benefit concert for Japan

Keng-Yuen Tseng, Yong Siew Toh Music Conservatory Chair in Strings at Peabody, performed a benefit concert for Japan earthquake relief on Apr. 11. The concert in Taiwan, titled "The Legend," included violinist Hao-Tun Teng and the Taipei Philharmonic Youth Orchestra.
